Dr. Mojgan Makki is a practicing psychiatrist with over 15 years of experience. She is double board certificated physician with American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in child, adolescents, and adult psychiatry. She has extensive experience in treating psychiatric disorders in children, adolescents, and young adults. She is a distinguished fellow at AACAP and works tirelessly advocating for children and adolescent mental health through her involvement with national organizations and her work with American Medical Association and psychiatric associations. She has been on the board of directors of the Illinois Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and currently she is a delegate to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has served as a medical director in inpatient child and adolescent psychiatric unit at Rush Medical University and established and directed specialized programs for toddlers and preschoolers. She has been a mentor to peers and trainees. In addition to her private practice in two locations (Northfield and Chicago), Dr. Makki is a consultant to a number of schools in Cook County and the Special Education District of Lake County (SEDOL).
Her philosophy of care is collaborative care with the families, schools, and other clinicians working in the team.
