The quality of the parent/child attachment is highly correlated with the effectiveness of parenting and family functioning. When a secure attachment exists, teenagers and young adults are able to cooperate, establish relationship security, and demonstrate a higher level of functioning. Confidence, happiness, impulse control, healthy relationships, school performance, and emotional regulation are direct results of secure attachment between parent and child. We believe symptoms including anxiety, depression, substance use, and acting out behaviors manifest from a rupture in this core attachment, therefore we strive to help repair this damage.
Our approach is individually tailored, inclusive, evidenced-based, collaborative, and respectful. Solutions Northshore addresses the biological, social, familial, and emotional/psychological issues and involves schools and ancillary support when necessary.
